Kempenfest 2022

Earlier this year, I joined the Barrie Art Club, and recently had an incredible opportunity to be part of Kempenfest.  Due to the covid shut-downs, we missed two years of this festival; making this year the 50th occurrence of Kempenfest.  It took place during the last weekend in July/ August civic holiday and attracted close to 200,000 visitors!

It started as the Huronia Festival of Arts and Crafts in the 70's, and has since grown to be one of North America's largest outdoor arts and crafts festivals, including more than 250 vendors, live concert performers, a midway, and an inflatable floating splash park.

I volunteered early one morning as a greeter to help some of the vendors find their booth locations, and met so many friendly, talented entrepreneurs!

I also felt honoured to have three of my paintings chosen to exhibit with the talented artists at the Barrie Art Club in their tent.

I'm already looking forward to next year's Kempenfest!
